Budapest : Day 2

Good girls that we are, we woke op at 8 in the morning to go walk in the city. We did everything by walk, we walked to the big bridge that separates Buda and Pest (we were in the ghetto from Pest) which was a 10 mile walk. I didn't expect that it was freezing out there. We had to do a coffee break every half hour, just to warm up our hands. After a really long walk we were finally on the bridge. Man, I felt so much that moment, happiness, freedom, goosebumbs (probably because it was freezing), but it felt amazing. At the end of the bridge there was a huge mountain with on top the lady of liberty. Ofcourse we had nothing else to do, so we went up that mountain in the freezing cold! But we got there , on top of the mountain with a view over whole Budapest. Never felt more powerful! With all that walking we got hungry, so we walked back downstairs and went to eat in a proper restaurant with a good glass of wine.

After a fine lunch we went for a walk in town, bought some christmas presents and found a place where we could have a Thai Massage. That's perfect after a whole morning of intensive walking, so we went inside. I already had a weird feeling when there were actual beds, but the masseuses were female so I hadn't any worries. Until she was touching my butt an ripping my bra off I got a bit scared. I totally started panicking when I heard the word ' Happy Ending ' in the middle of her Thai sentence, at that moment I grabbed my clothes and disappeared. I nearly had an happy ending of a 40 year old Thai masseuse!? So we decided to go to the Hard Rock café to drink a Cosmopolitan. Everytime I go to an Hard Rock café, I have to drink a Cosmopolitan there, that's my thing.

In the evening we had a special thing planned. We had a wine tasting, on a cruiseship, on the Donau river. How nice is that? Only the bridge at night was already priceless, but than we got on the cruise. Oh god that view, the prettiest I've ever seen. So we were sipping wine, eating nacho's, hearing life violin players while enjoying the best view. Could life get any better?

One thing I was wondering, how did they expect from us that we could drink 8 glasses of wine in 1 hour , on a boat AND behave ourselves? Ohwell, we tried our best! We did need a taxi home though...
We got beyond early! We were so knackered that we decided to go to bed early ( 10 PM!!!! ) so we could get up early the day after. I'm such a good girl!

Wine tasting.

Hanging around in Budapest

Walked all the way up that mountain

Isn't that view priceless?

Budapest : Day 1

Finally we were leaving, it was already late so we decided to have make it a flight to remember (or not remember). As soon as we were on the plane we order a bottle of wine, some olives and cheese. Pretty fancy isn't it? For the first time in my life I had a 'good' flight. Ohwell, flights are never actually good but I didn't had panic attacks to crash down, so it was good. After 2 hours we arrived in Budapest, of course it couldn't stay perfect, our transfer to the hotel wasn't there. So after one hundred phone calls we decided to take a taxi to the hotel. Of course we payed to much, but we didn't care we were finally at the hotel. After dressing up we went outside for a nice night out in town. As soon as we got out the hotel we realized that we were in the ghetto of Budapest, nothing to do, nothing to drink and poor people on the street. It looked a bit dangerous so to be smart we just went back to the hotel. We grabbed a bottle of wine of our mini bar and sat writing down what we were going to do the day after. So we had a first early night in Budapest!

Chilling with our glass of wine.

Lovely flight!

Off to Budapest!

Today I'm finally leaving for a city trip to Budapest! I'm so excited!
Not excited for the fact that I have to go on a plane, and sure as hell not excited
that the plane is from Ryan Air. Ohwell, as long as I make it there, everything will be fine.

I can actually not wait to be there, I researched a lot about the culture and 'Places to see in Budapest'.
I'm going to watch the bridge that separates Buda and Pest (of course), and the hot waterthermes.
I also cannot wait for the food, going on restaurant, twice a day. Apparently it's very cheap to eat and drink up there! So we surely are going to some bars at night, maybe clubbing! And in the day holding coffee-latte breaks in the intellectual bars. There are a lot coffee bars like in the british movies, old, the tables made of light brown wood while smart journalist are sipping their coffees while writing the new article of the times square. (Yes I know, big fantasy about coffee shops).

I'm also going to have a shopping day, see what the Hongarian fashion is like. And to buy my Christmas presents for my family. Can't wait to be there but now I'm going to pack my bags.
I'll let you know everything I did! I'm going to enjoy myself and wish me luck that my Ryan Air plane isn't going to crash! ;-)
